Smile Lines

Why They Appear — and How to Soften Them Naturally?

Discover the root causes of smile lines and a safe, step-by-step release you can try at home.

Before we get into the technique, here’s a little background to help it all make sense. You’ll find the video waiting for you at the bottom of the page 💕

And if you’re curious about going beyond quick fixes — for real transformation that works on every level, including skull, fascia, and posture — make sure to read till the end 💕
So, what is causing it?

Many factors contribute — here are the most common:

  • Poor posture
  • Tech neck
  • Side sleeping
  • Excessive facial expressions
  • Reduced lymphatic flow and resorption
  • Changes in the alignment of the lower jaw
  • Flattening of the midface due to bone resorption and a downward shift of the maxilla (upper jaw)

This list isn’t complete, but these are among the most frequent causes.

Muscle Focus: Levator Labii Superioris Alaeque Nasi

  • This small but powerful muscle enables you to “sneer.”
  • It begins at the top of the maxilla (upper jaw), runs vertically, then divides in two, inserting into the skin of the nostril and upper lip.
  • Over time, excessive facial expressions cause it to shorten and thicken.
  • As we age, the wrinkle created by this muscle becomes static: even at rest, the line remains visible.
👉 Goal: Relax and elongate this muscle. (Technique shown in the video.)

Fascia Connection

  • After working with the muscle, we finish with lymphatic drainage and a fascia lift.
  • The superficial fascia is a thin layer just beneath the skin.
  • It provides support and structure, keeping skin lifted and toned.
  • But when fascia holds tension or adhesions, it restricts blood flow and lymph circulation — contributing to the formation of nasolabial folds.

Bregma Point Release

The bregma is the junction between the two parietal bones and the frontal bone.

  • To locate: trace your hand from the ear along the temporalis muscle to the top of the head.
  • Gentle release in this area improves circulation and relieves tension.

Results & Practice

You may notice results after the very first try 🌟

  • For lasting change: repeat daily.
  • Over time, the muscle will relax, fascia will release, and nasolabial folds soften.
Video Technique

In below video I will show you how to reduce tension in the mimic muscle that provokes the beginning of this fold

Keep breathing and enjoy.

Oh, it can be painful at first. So take breaks, no fanaticism, just microdozing

Gentleness matters — don’t overdo it. It’s better to work a little every day than to force in one session
